If someone makes a pattern of doing shitty things and then stands by their behavior when challenged, they are a shitty person. I'm so tired of having to try and justify this stance. Saying that when someone does / says something racist, homophobic, etc. on the reg, it's not because they're racist, homophobic, etc. it's a fucking slap in the face. You're placing your trust in a person who has a track record of being a crap dude just... dropping their bigoted motivations over the analytical abilities of someone trying to explain that this is a pattern of behavior.
I don't understand why the benefit of the doubt is a bottomless well for so many. How many bigoted things does a person need to do to make it 'acceptable' to call them a bigot? Why do so many people feel like that number should be infinite? Fuck.
