Sorry for keeping this wretched thing in your minds, but perhaps I've found a good reason why the event seems so lacklustre. With the internet it's so easy to do pranks and jokes you don't have to commit, like, at all to. There's no skin in the game. Now a prank might be just a photoshopped picture or someone being mean on Twitter, things we see everyday. It almost makes me miss being pranked offline. So yeah let's just stop this nonsense.

But this post yesterday gives me hope that we can just reform the tradition. Things are already absurd, why not give something fun in the process?

PS. The "one day during which people akshually think critically mindblown takes should also die.

PPS. "So much of staying fresh and relevant means realizing when a formula is tired and drained, and figuring out a way to revitalize it. For the next few years, I would love to see more companies embrace April Fool’s as a holiday of genuineness. Like, still be lighthearted and playful, but offer a genuine gift for your fans and customers." <--- so good
