I spend a lot of time thinking about how words are arbitrary boundaries, always expiring, drawn around real concepts, on an ever-shifting map. I feel on the fringes of queer verbiage. I am looking to the past to see what terms people used back then, wondering how outdated our terminology of today might appear to queers of the future.
