i really struggled to make sense of this. why would someone presumably acting in good faith, and presumably with more than 10 minutes of experience using a computer, do all these things?
then i remembered from my own experience that computer security people are some of the dumbest mfs alive. unbelievably inflated sense of self-importance for being a bunch of bozos snooping around on shodan. no doubt this person participates in ego stroking exercises on linkedin, bragging to their fellow industry professionals about having known about infrastructure as code for all of five minutes.
