i copied a bunch of tabulated data to my clipboard, then pasted it into numbers. it resulted in some weird black square appearing in the highlighted cell, when i wanted the spreadsheet to be populated with the data in my clipboard.

so i brought out my office 97 disc, ran excel.exe via wine (it just runs straight off the disc), clicked paste, and watched as my beautiful tabulated data became cells in the spreadsheet.

so 10/10, i would highly recommend excel 97

there's a world we could have lived in where everyone had easy access to decent spreadsheets. but we don't live iin that world. that is a small tragedy

numbers may be bad, but it prominently features advertising for apple's new subscription shit, and also premium templates that you have to pay for. you simply cannot get this modern experience with excel 97.

sorry you have to pay like $2000 for the cheapest apple computer and then you have to pay more for "premium" spreadsheet templates? doesnt apple have like a billion dollars in the bank
