5: Hojicha. Hojicha has a smoky flavor that is roasted to a very smoky flavor. It's very robust and is great during the winter months.

4: Sencha. A japanese mainstay, sencha is mild and grassy and fit for any occasion.

3: Bi Luo. Bi luo is a chinese tea I first tried last year. It has the earthiness typically found in a chinese green tea, while still being mild.

2: Longjin. Longjin (aka dragon well) is my daily tea. It has a bold, grassy, earthy flavor without being too strong in caffeine. It's really good.

1: Gyokuro. Gyokuro is my absolute favorite tea. It's one of the strongest flavored non-roasted Japanese green teas I've had. It has a strong, grassy flavor which a good amount of sweetness. It's high in both theanine (which produces a relaxing effect) and caffeine for a green tea. The only reason it's not my daily tea is because it has too much caffeine for me, and can be fairly pricy.

honestly, type doesn’t really factor in to quality. bagged teas are usually pretty bad. loose leaf is usually decent to great
