i adore the entire album! i was hip to it via "new town"; i think this was their "breakout" song, at least as much as a half-forgotten band from two decades ago could have one? but lately my favourite from the album has been the opener, "ps exclusive". the instrumental breakdown in the middle, when combined with the frantic vocals, sets the tone really well for the rest of the album. an exemplary opener
life without buildings p good. "happy scottish lady doing sprechgesang over late '90s-early 00's indie rock" is a pretty potent formula

(funny to say "back in the day" when referring to stuff you only did 2 years ago)

"i can't pay attention if it's not sang to me in a spongebob/miku duet" but for real: i think if your initial exposure to this song was like, passive (having it play in the background, on the top 40 radio and whatnot), you'd condition yourself not to listen closely; your minds files it under "pop dreg". listening to it in a different context allows you to pay attention to things that you didn't before, e.g., the god dangned lyrics

the "this is the first time I've actually understood this song" comments are wild

in some of the more drawn out lines the nasally tones in the spongebob ai voice are like, damningly similar to those of a b-tier early 90s emo/math rock band vocalist
also i think that the original song is quite compelling so even though i was listening to spongebob ai voice i was like "damn bro i sympathise with you and understand why you feel wronged even though i dont think hatsune miku necessarily did anything wrong in this situation" before remembering that this is Somebody That I Used to Know Spongebob Squarepants Hatsune Miku Cover

Reply to My Spotify daylist today is “frutiger aero horror gaming afternoon” by ___
Now I'm curious to see how someone would make a horror game with frutiger aero aesthetics, those two seem pretty disparate. Then again day horror is a thing, so maybe someone could pull it off
