I grow tired of indie game developers

The problem with people who make indie games is that their highest aspiration is that of a small business owner, the most fascistic class to ever exist. And they all whine too much that people aren't letting them be successful small business owners.

"You said that it's a shame we aren't in a golden age of point and click adventure games anymore but I actually released one last week so maybe you are just fucking stupid because you don't spend you entire day sifting through the garbage of virtual game storefronts where 80% of all games are AI generated hentai sliding block puzzle 84: Revenge of Milk to see what genius I cooked up."

"Oh that's not fair though, they work so hard." I don't give shit everyone does and I am sorry that you cannot accept the fact that recognition is essentially just random and that there is no meritocracy that will reward you if you complain about people not voting with their dollars well enough.

The only thing worse than indie games are mainstream ones.

i am entirely sincere when I say that this is an A tier hater post. its so nice when people, out of the blue, complain about something that you also find declasse. its like oh cool i didn't have to say it

I like indie game developers because they make cool games I like to play. Maybe it's just that I only follow the cool developers but I'm seeing much less of this than I used to, I think everyone is already used to there being a deluge. There's a couple developers I'm seeing genuinely getting fucked over (collaborator infighting, steam bugs) who are being much more calm about this than I would be in their situation, Lol.

Around the time Indie Game: The Movie came out in 2012 there was this idea that the future of indies was some kind of meritocracy that would result in this huge success for whoever worked the hardest. This (very stupid) idea crashed over and over again during the last decade, and that has caused some gnashing of teeth over time but there's no more teeth to gnash. People realize it's a gamble now, which it always was but whatever.

I don't follow many video games people because I don't care about videogames but I have been seeing a lot more of their opinions because my friends have been invested in the whole payment processor thing and have been retweeting games people.
The dream of being the most important games boy is alive and well on social media you live a life more blessed than I.

I'm a little confused, the payment processor thing is mostly about very small indies, porn games, and queer games. I was talking about bigger groups who aren't really on itch. idk if it's worth getting mad at the people who are fucked because mastercard doesn't like boobs

I am seeing their more general opinions in the wake of my friends paying attention to the payment processor stuff. It's not the mastercard stuff I am annoyed with them over it's just that that was the moment that made me get exposed to these people more and more.

I think maybe an important part of it here is that these are the indie developers who are small enough to be on itch but have a void in their heart where their soul should be so they were able farm followers off of master card stuff.
Regardless all video game are by dumb babies for dumb babies.
