For the last few years I have been trying out a bold experiment of celebrating Halloween in April and Christmas in June. I live in the southern hemisphere and always felt that having halloween in the middle of spring and christmas in the middle of summer was missing out on the core of these holidays as seasonal celebrations, so this was my attempt at fixing that. But it introduced a new problem, in that I felt lonely not being able to join in halloween or christmas celebrations with friends during october/december as wholeheartedly.

This year though I have come up with a solution that will allow me to both enjoy these holidays in the correct season and fully embrace events during the "traditional" holiday months: I'm just going to have two halloweens and two christmases. Fuck it, i'm an adult and rules are made up, and I am too powerful to be stopped.

Hey!! 🤝 Same brain

There actually IS a "Halloween in April", I call it "Witches' Night" or "Hexennacht" or whatever name sounds coolest to you. It's celebrated around the same time as May Day and Beltane. The mountain it is supposed to take place on is also an important part of Goethe's Faust.
