So a couple of AT episodes aired about two weeks ago. I just watched the first one, a filler episode about Finn trying to prove he's got the humor chops. Honestly really nice to see Finn do stuff alone and not bounce from situation to another - this is what he likes to do on his own volition, not when Ooo needs a hero.
Blenanas is probably the best filler episode of the show so far. Did they seriously make an episode about their own looming end (as a show)? All while subtly encouraging creativity, yet showing that it is something best pursued for its own sake rather than as means to some goal? This is like the bravest meta I've ever seen in a children's cartoon. Also like
- PB's guide was useless - you don't need to learn theory before starting to create. This is a very good lesson.
- They just walk over the guard - you don't need permissions to start creating.
- Your first idea probably isn't good but it doesn't really matter.
- Just share your work around, it will probably lead to something.
All in all very excellent lessons to teach children, bravo! Creativity has been a long running theme in the show which I think has nicely distinguished the show from others.

baked fresh take: only arcless AT episodes are good
every time they hit the THIS IS THE PLOT NOW button it made me want to go back to the first two seasons. I really think the show shines when it's doing more in ten minutes than most shows do in 45.
